On Saturday, January 13th, local community members came together to spread the message of safer and healthier communities in Crown Heights. After a session of learning about canvassing strategies with S.O.S. Crown Heights Violence Interrupter Darien and Repair the World fellow Brian, five volunteers took to the streets with public education, information about upcoming events, and swag for the community. The community members canvassed in the Crown Heights catchment area, spreading a message of anti-violence and meeting the neighbors.

Despite the cold weather, the community members walked on nearly every street in the catchment. Community members were excited to learn about our programs and services and committed to applying to JCP or signing up for the Fresh Air Fund.
