Brooklyn’s Barclays Center opened its doors for Power 105.1’s annual Powerhouse concert on Thursday October 27th. While fans filed into the venue anticipating a night of memorable performances from the already-impressive bill, it was the unforeseen guest cameos that shattered show-goer’s expectations.
Four Save Our Streets participants were able to be among the fans and performers on Thursday night, as they viewed the concert performances. S.O.S. participants were able to spend some quality time with the Outreach Worker who was designated to lead the Powerhouse event. The crew shared that the highlight of the night was when formerly incarcerated, female Mc Remy Ma took the stage to perform her many smash hits and features.
This was the second year in a row that S.O.S participants had the chance to attend the highly popular Brooklyn concert. Last year, Save Our Streets supporter and friend Stephon Barnes donated 6 six tickets so that the S.O.S. participants could have a new experience. Relationships like this help the S.O.S. model by creating new opportunities for high risk youth and adults to be a part of.
The night ended with S.O.S participants and staff member enjoying food from the local Buffalo Wild Wings located across the street from the Barclay Center inside of the Atlantic Terminal. All in attendance enjoyed their night in the name of #StopShootingStartLiving.
