On February 6th, the Crown Heights Community Mediation Center received a donation of 25 New York Knicks tickets for the Los Angeles Lakers vs. New York Knicks basketball game.
The day consisted of S.O.S. youth attending the pre-game show warm up where they were able to gain a close look at players and staff as they warmed up for the main event. S.O.S. participants and youth were able to meet players such as Kristaps Porzingis and Joakim Noah before the game kicked off. Participants and youth also took photos with the players and had basketball paraphernalia signed by players.
The highlight of the night was when slain founding member, Lavon “Boo” Walker’s son, “L.J” was picked up and held by Joakim Noah for the night’s photo. Spectators watched the photo go viral on Instagram gaining over 4,514 like in under 5 hours.
