On Friday, July 17th the Mediation Center hosted 9 young women leaders from Sadie Nash Leadership Project (SNLP). Named for a female anti-poverty activist from the early 20th century, SNLP is a program in New York and Newark that provides young women with leadership training, workplace experience, and opportunities to discuss important issues facing their communities. The young women visited the Mediation Center and worked with staff member Marlies Talay to learn about the work of the Mediation Center, talk about issues of violence in their communities, and discuss alternatives to incarceration. We are glad to be part of the SNLP’s summer learning experience!
