Last Saturday, St. Johns Place was abuzz with the sights and smells of healthy eating for our Leadership Training Institute’s Eat Healthy/Eat Local Fair at St. Gregory’s Roman Catholic Church. The fair featured a variety of vendors, including hydroponic gardening from Boswyck Farms, free yoga, pilates, and qi gong classes from Force and Flow Fitness Studio, delicious cooking demonstrations from East New York Farms and Hattie Carthan Community Garden, locally-sourced gourmet sauces and condiments from The Pour Gourmet, and information from the new Central Brooklyn CSA and Lefferts Community Food Coop, and more.

Along with all of this great information, our hosts at St. Gregory’s added to the fun with a barbecue and moonbounce for kids in the neighborhood. It was a fun and educational day for all!

The Leadership Training Institute produced two documents for the event, a resource guide to healthy eating in the community and a collection of healthy recipes to try at home. Stop by to pick up your copies at the Mediation Center, or download them here. Both are available in the “Documents” section of the sidebar to the right.

Congratulations to the Leadership Training Institute on such an innovative and informative event!
