Recognizing and understanding trauma enables people to begin healing. Our programming is designed to acknowledge the effects of individual and collective pain, intergenerational and historical trauma, and as well as the possibility of collective healing. Neighbors in Action staff are intentional in program design and implementation to ensure that all people, particularly those who are the most marginalized, feel welcome, safe and valued.
Make It Happen is part of the trauma support services at Neighbors in Action for young men of color between the ages of 16 and 24 who have been negatively impacted by community violence. Through group workshops and client-driven individual sessions, participants are able to recognize their trauma and engage in healing.
