Hey Crown Heights,

On Thursday evening, the Crown Heights Community Mediation Center partnered up with Repair the World and Brooklyn based Art Collaborators Evan Schwartz and Michael K. Dorr to discuss guns in America. Schwartz and Dorr have created an exhibit that includes thirteen anti-gun violence artworks titled “Guns Don’t Kill…A Re-imagining”. As part of the exhibit, they are holding a series of events, including the panel on gun violence that the Mediation Center participated in. Our very own Anthony Collins, who is the Education and Career Specialist for our youth programs, and Shawn Deverteuil, who is the Men’s Coordinator for Make it Happen, were on the panel, accompanied by Nefertiti Ankra and Kwesi Dash from the Community Justice Unit of the Legal Aid Society, and Michael Dorr.

The exhibit will continue until April 30th and can be seen at Repair the World which is located at 808 Nostrand Ave. Check out the photos of the panel below!
